Under Renovations since Dec. 2008

Stayed here the weekend of August 14th thru 16th 2009. The facility is undergoing renovations. I’m told renovations have been occurring since December 2008. From what I could see, they’re far from done. The rooms are renovated with new carpeting, mattress etc.. Nothing to complain about regarding my room. The first floor is a mess as is the outside. No restaurant or catering services. The restaurant is completely gutted. During renovations you get a basic continental breakfast (pastry, cereal, juice, coffee, fruit). Normally you’d get a hot breakfast (eggs to order, waffles etc..). So in regards to food services, the guest gets stiffed. The outside is very rough looking. Overgrown bushes along the driveway leading up from the road, missing plastic on the building’s Holiday Inn sign. I was told all this will be overhauled as part of the renovation. I’d be cautious of how much you pay for a room here during renovations. Be cautious of what you pay per night during renovations as you’re not getting the biggest bang for your buck. Once renovations are done, I think it’ll be a nice place. I don’t discourage anyone from staying here, just keep in mind what’s going on.

Traveller's tip

Don’t overpay during renovations!

Under Renovation

The hotel was under renovation. The tiles on the lobby floor were removed; it was a little dusty; the room itself wasnt so bad. Newly renovated, nice clean carpet, bathroom looked nice, a little surprised that they installed a CRT TV instead of a flat panel. Great location from restaurants. I would recommend this hotel, but not now while its under renovation.

good value

got a nicer than expected room for what I paid...renovations were being done but hotel was still very functional... outside appearance (landscaping and parking lot) could use some attention but the lobby, room, bathrooms and hallways were nice.
