Traditional station hotel
The hotel was perfectly located for our purpose and within easy walk of the Minster. The architecture is splendid Victorian station hotel imperial. The food was good but both food and drink definitely on the expensive side.

Eat out. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants in York

Changed a bit
Have visited this hotel a few times and it is lovely but this time I was in one of the conference rooms which wasnt as spacious as the original rooms. . and quite a way from reception.The radiator was on in August which didnt help! The window didnt open either.. The room was really clean and facilities were good ..noticed pay an display is in car park now although but price wasnt bad.Think this hotel may of been taken over by a group.

Lovely environment - excellent staff
Only disappointment was at getting allocated twin room rather than double however booking was via ’Summer special saver’ offer and double not guaranteed. The room was adequate, comfortable and clean. Communal areas of the hotel were very impressive and the staff from reception to bar to concierge were pleasant and helpful.
The buffet breakfast at the hotel offered fantastic choice of great quality cooked food, cereals and fruit plus more. Very impressed with breakfast.
