A nice, decent hotel to stay at..
Good place to stay at if youre looking for a reasonably priced, clean, convenient, small hotel in the Ueno area. No amenities and no view. My window was frosted and locked. You have to depend on the a.c. which has no temperature control. All of the dials are conveniently located above the bed. Nice, soft lighting. I was impressed by how quiet the room was but you can feel claustrophobic if you stay in too long. Your room comes with towels,a razor, hair brush, toothbrush with toothpaste,3 kinds of soaps, and a bathrobe. I liked the bathtub shower and tub. You can get hot water real fast. Theres a 15" LCD moniter where you can watch 12 free Japanese channels. Theres an additional charge for movies.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
The hotel is located about 75 minutes from the Narita/Tokyo Airport. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Ueno Station. Its located on a backroad about a block from the fire station. There are numerous stores and restaurants in the area that only accept yen.Pack a lunch if you dont like Japanese food. The outdoor market next to the Ueno Station is a must see.Ueno Park has a zoo and several museums.I felt safer in Tokyo than in any other big city.

Quiet and good standards - will stay there again
The hotel staff were very friendly. Room size is average for Japan but I didnt feel cramped in this hotel. Location is 5-10 minutes walk from UENO station, so its easy to get around. Would happily stay there again.

Happy to return.
If Im ever lucky enough to go to Tokyo again Ill happily stay here. Spent 2 weeks at the Chisun in Ueno. Perfectly located for the train from the airport and then further around Tokyo. Fantastic park with a Zoo and museums included within walking distance with excellent shopping and eating. Staff were lovely, free internet access in my room and a fridge all made my stay very comfortable. No TV channels to speak of but theres enough entertainment on your doorstep to keep you happy. Cant thank them enough for their hospitality.
