Bonar Law

You caqnnot fault the location , being10 yds from the cathedral Be carefull though, the expedia brochure claimed complementary water in the room- yup- that was right - 1 bottle ont eh first day only. It also said tea and coffee in room-yup- thats right-drinks all in packets marked at 1.50 a sachet-so it mounts up unless like us you always take your own. Television in room-yup- turn it on and it flags up a 19 eoro charge to watch-didn’t need it. Photo showed great pool on roof- yup-there it was all 20 feet long by 4ft deep!!photo lied a bit.Even so had brill time but watch also all inclusive gaudi tours as they do not do all the sights Beware on the Ramblas when asking for Sagria, everyone except the english got large wine glasses or 1pt jugs. We got 1 litre flagons because we were english and -his quote something that sounded like Hiss artists.Still at 16.50 a glass we did not waste it so he must be right!!!

Great location

Hotel is located, as its name suggests, close to the Cathedral in the old town. It has easy walking access to the shopping areas and is perhaps 10 minutes from Las Ramblas. It’s a modern hotel; our room was small but comfortable and pleasantly designed.

Traveller's tip on dining

Don’t be surprised to find yourself alone in the restaurants at 8:30 in the evening. People show up around 9:30. If you prefer to eat lightly, tapas is usually available before 9, with larger meals later. We found the better eating a little distance away from Las Ramblas, where they mostly cater to the casual tourist.

Barcelona Catedral Hotel Review

The hotel is very modern and attractive. The front desk staff at the Barcelona Catedral are excellent. During the first day our bathroom window would not close and within 5 minutes two people were in the room and both, with some difficulty, managed to close the window. They also offered us another room that we declined. The hotel offers free Internet service at 4 PCs off the lobby. We were disappointed at the cost of the cost of breakfast at the hotel at 18 euros per person. There was a very good buffet alternative on La Ramblas at 10 euros each. Our room and bathroom were both attractive, spacious and clean. The hotel is well located to local transportation, restaurants and the La Ramblas. I still don’t understand this European idea of having a glass shower door that only gives cover to 60% of the bathtub. It is difficult to shower and keep water in the tub. The hotel was a little difficult to find but if you find the main cathederal in Barcelona you are only 200 to 300 feet away from the hotel. On a 10 point scale I would give Cateral a 9.
