great location
This hotel is in a great location. There is a HSBC bank(everyone can exchange their money), souvenir shops, travel agency(across the street), you can catch (local)microbus (across the street), 15min walking from Luxor station, 10min walking from Luxor temple and the ferry to get to west bank. Their break fast was good and one of the waiter guy was really funny... friendly. Their big back yard was very beautiful and nice. I stayed 3 nights here and it was the first stays in Egypt. I didn’t take a tour so for me, close to the everything was more than great.
almost everyone who is trying to help you wants money. period. so whoever you don’t wanna get bother just simple do not talk at all. even one word.

Will be back in Luxor
The Iberotel was a great choice, central, relaxed, comfortable, great location on the banks of the Nile. Excellent pool and the availability of pretty well any trips that you wanted to make. The staff were extremely pleasant, efficient and helpful - they wouldn’t even let you carry pool towel (supplied) to your sun lounger! Hussain, with his river taxi and felucca was brilliant at organising trips and giving advice on how best to get around. All at very good prices too. Breakfast on the hotel terrace with the early sun and incredible views of the Nile and the Theban Hills on the West Bank is an amazing way to start the day. Seeing camels over coffee and eggs is something else! By the way be sure to take a camel ride on the West Bank - Hussain will sort it. We normally only take B & B and like to sample local restaurants in the evening. Egyptian cuisine wasn’t great, at least not in Luxor, but we had been warned. Take some US dollars and get plenty of small denomination Egyptian pounds, most UK exchanges only seem to issue 100 and 200 Egyptian notes, too big to flash around when you visit the souk or are giving the inevitable tip. Great hotel, magical area, friendly people and just play the barter game in the shops and the souk.
