Not Impressed
On arrival the reception was as expected. The room seemed clean however very run down. The blankets were not clean, only the sheets. The kids camp bed frame was rusting in places and the walls were bubbly with over painted damp. The bathroom was horrible, dirty around fixtures and fittings. Glad I had my bugs away wipes with me. Dining was okay, however when busy the waiters were eager to clear you from the table and had on several occasions cleared guests food and drink by mistake. I have to say the food was as expected for buffet. There was a problem with flies throughout the hotel. I didn’t see many cleaners in the main reception areas and many tables were sticky. Outside the pool area, again very run down. The pool lights were all rusting and the painted concrete everywhere pealing and chipped. Only looked okay when the sun was shining. There were loads of wasps, so if you don’t like them don’t go, same for dogs (however, they do seem friendly). Entertainment was limited to the kids animation team trying to keep everyone happy in the evening (a quiz, karaoke and bingo). They also did the mini disco (they are great for the kids entertainment). Hotel wasn’t managed very well, definately not a 4 star hotel. The Zakynthos airport is a nightmare you are expected to leave the hotel 4-5 hours before the flight. This is because the airport can’t handle more than 58 people entering at any one time. I vow never to return to the hotel or Zakynthos.
