super hotel in great location
I can’t understand why this hotel has only a 2 and a half star rating. It is fantastically located, about 3 minutes walk from the Real Palace, a really nice area, and about 5 minutes walk from Plaza Mayor and Sol which seem to be the most central areas in old Madrid. The hotel is spotless and modern, the staff helpful and friendly and the included breakfast more than satisfactory. The only slight negative was the air conditioning was not very effective which might be a problem in the summer.
A word of warning for other travellers - be very careful of belongings as I had my backpack pickpocketed in Gran Via. The Spanish police were helpful and the national police station with English speakers is about 5 minutes from the hotel. A recommended trip out is Segovia which is a wonderful small walled town - definitely worth a visit by train. If returning to Madrid would certainly stay at Room Mate Mario again.

modern hotel at great location
I liked: - the modern decor (stunnung bathroom) and the clean rooms - the great location just next to the Royal Palace and very close to shopping streets and restaurants - the large breakfast buffet - the free wi-fi in the room - the friendly and helpful staff Disliked: Nothing, really. Wasn’t the cheapest place I ever stayed in, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Would definitely go back to this hotal
The location was perfect, ideal for sightseeing. Clean and modern with very comfortable beds. The staff were more than helpful and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice and couldn’t be faulted.
The Palacio Real De Madrid is just a stroll from the hotel and is a must to visit
