Nice Hotel, not so nice location
The hotel is very nice and comfortable. Expedia said it was a non-smoking hotel, but the top floor is for smokers. The location is not close to any of the attractions, and to make matters worse, it is a seven block walk to the nearest metro station. It is at least a twenty minute walk to the historic downtown area, and there weren’t many places nearby for dining.

Great long weekend
Hotel was great - central for shops, pavement cafes and restaurantsa nd close to castle and beach. Amazing views from the castle but it was a long walk to the top (could have taken a tourist bus or taxi). Hotel was modern and clean - breakfast (self-service) was excellent. Service in hotel was very good. Room was a bit noisy with window open but aircon was efficient (I prefer to sleep with window open); otherwise no complaints. Even had a "menu" of additional pillows - to help with bad backs etc! There were (apparently - I didn’t make it up there myself) stunning views from the 11th floor where the sauna, jacuzzi and gym were located. The beach was clean and not too crowded. Only went for a long weekend - would have prefered to have gone for a week Would recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing break and some winter sunshine.
Easy to get taxis and local buses from outside the airport to the hotel.

One of the best
Hotel neat clean and maintained in very good condition. Clean bed linen every day upon request room cleaned and serviced like clockwork. Just a short walk from the beach and very accessible to all main diving routes although on street parking is at a premium. This was our first visi to Alicane and better instruction to get to the hotel would have been appreciated.The area is very central and slap in the middle of the best restaurants and bars all i all a vey pleasant 8 nights stay.
