Gorgeous
A fabulous, friendly hotel in walking distance to all the main attractions. Room was clean and breakfast good. Just wished they served coffee with breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Hugely Disappointed
Definitely not worth the money! Our bathroom was tiled with a drain in the middle with no division between shower, sink, and toilet. Everything was next to each other, so when you showered everything else got wet. It was obvious that our tiny room used to be a hallway which now has been converted into a room. This was the worst location in Rome. To get to the nice plazas with restaurants, shops, and people you would need to take the metro, because the hotel is in the least desirable place to stay in Rome. Rome is amazing except for where the hotel is. Recommended areas: Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and the Spanish Steps. When we checked in, we asked if we could shorten our stay by one day and if it was possible to change the reservation without being charged because the day we were changing was before the usual 24-hour change requirement. The hotel said “no problem”, changed our reservation, and then told us to call Expedia to be refunded the last night since we had pre-paid our reservation. When we called Expedia and they called the hotel to verify that it was okay to change the reservation, the hotel told Expedia that they could not refund the last night because we had done it after we checked-in. We were annoyed that they had said one thing to us and then said another thing to Expedia, wasting not only our time in Rome trying to call Expedia but also our money paying for call made to a US based number.

Clean, convenient, nothing fancy
The Hotel Milton Roma was conveniently located, 10 minute walk to the Coloseum, Forum, St. Giovanni Church. The neighborhood is mostly residential. It looks worse than it probably is because there is so much graffiti in Rome and the side streets are not well lit. The front desk speaks english well and was very helpful, recommending good restaurants and tours. The buffet breakfast was very good. The rooms are a good size but the furniture, bathroom accessories were nothing special, equal to a Quality Inn in the U.S. The room did have a 32" flat screen TV but very few english speaking shows.
Of course you must see the Coleseum and Forum. Buy your tickets at the Forum, the lines are much shorter and the ticket gets you into both.
