Great place for honeymoon
We had an amazing week in Veligandu. Stayed in a Jacuzzi water villa, which was beautifully decorated and comfortable. Only issues we had was that some days our room wasn’t clean. One day we had a run in with the cleaner and he said it’s because we weren’t closing our door properly, not too sure to believe this though. Also wouldn’t recommend the excursions, they’re quite boring. But overall the service is first class, and I think before long the island will be a 5 star. The waiters in the restaurant and the par are the politest I’ve ever encountered and they can’t do enough for you. The food is also amazing quality for a buffet.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
Don’t bother with All Inclusive upgrade unless you’re a heavy drinker. The drinks are reasonably priced otherwise.

Absolutely loved it!
After all the worries about whether this hotel was finished and whether the sun would shine we couldn’t believe our luck when we arrived on Veligandu - it is just wonderful. It is what it sets out to be - laid back, informal, stunningly beautiful, but the renovations have made it also quite luxurious. The jacuzzi water villas are fantastic, the infinity pool perfect and the food never failed to delight. We normally get fed up with buffet food but every meal offered a wide choice of an excellent standard. Sure they haven’t quite finished the renovations yet, but they are working hard to get there and we were not disturbed in any way by the work in progress. The service is laid back, as is the island, but if that suits you then Veligandu is close to perfect. Waking up to a view of endless blue - the lagoon, the ocean and the sky, is just unforgettable. Loved it.

Veligandu - absolutely brilliant
brilliant island - perfect size ie quite small and intimate very high ratio of chefs to visitors hence why the food is so good (but not for the waistline). All staff get top marks and go out of their way to help you. Very relaxed atmosphere. I was in a deluxe water bungalow. Made great friends and we are all going back to Veligandu in March 08 - yep it was that good!

complete and utter relaxation - leave the shoes at home as you simply wont need them!
