Small but comfy

This hotel was very modern and very young. The one thing that was a bit of a concern for my partner and I was that the size of the studio was extremely small. There were no washers and dryers like we thought there would be. The bathroom has a sliding door b/c they have no room to place a regular swinging door. The sink is the size of my arm and the toilet, sink, shower were just a tippy toe away from each other. We did get a pretty view... onto the left side of the balcony that is. The right side was blocked by another hotel that can look directly into my room if I didn’t close the curtains. Forget about doing laundry if you don’t have a washer in your room. there is a different price for each article of clothing. pretty pricey. I did like the fact that the hotel was located a little bit further out of the main busy area. The con about that was that we had to climb uphill and walk down hill a lot. It was pretty tiring after exploring the whole day and we just wished that going back to the hotel wouldn’t be so tiring. Unfortunately, it is what it is. Other than that, the hotel was pretty comfortable. The beds were clean and very comfy so that totally made me forget about the small and tiny bathroom. After a long day of going out, the size of the room didn’t really matter anymore. Most importantly, they always cleaned the room and we always came into the room with a neatly made bed.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

Remember, food will be quite pricey. I’m from the US and even when the exchange rate, the prices were kinda’ high. Piha beach is a MUST go to place. So is KareKare. My fave!! Nothing like it in the US. Please grab a tour guide booklet/pamphlet. They have discounts in there so that you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg instead a finger. There are coupons for almost every attraction so please do look thru those. Auckland was lovely and very memorable. People are pretty friendly. enjoy!

Fantastic stay at a great location

Beautiful view from balcony, convenience of a kitchen with dishwasher and laundry. Very helpful staff. Central to downtown area. Would stay there again.

Buy the multipass at Auckland’s Sky Tower. It provides a discount for Ferry ride to Rangitoto, admittance to Kelly Tarlton’s, the Sky Tower and Rainbow’s End which can be used anytime within a month period. Great value for families. Also, you can order food to your room through an inexpensive delivery service from several local restaurants, and charge it to your room. Just ask the front desk for details.

Swanky

This hotel is a little bit swanky, very posh decor and accents. Probably not ideal for families, it does have a washer/dryer in room and a small kitchenette if you’re interested in cooking. Location is within short walking distance of downtown Auckland, the Auckland museum, Albert park, and anywhere you’ll want to be in Auckland. If you’re looking to dine in a hotel, your options are very limited though they do have excellent muffins each morning available a la carte.
