Very bad experience considering that it is a 5 star hotel !

Hotel has some nice architectural features but that is where nice things end. The toilet was very dirty. Some horrible hair and other dirty particles. There was no water in the toilet we had to call someone to fix it. The tv’s antena was out of order and at first there was one chanel and then when it got "fixed" it started showing like 5 or 6 more in a very bad quality. Most of the hotel’s employees were unpleasant(with few exeptions) For a 5 star hotel it was very poor. I would say that even for a very low rated hotel I would expect basics of hygiene. hotel-not recommended.Good that at least our mood was ok so we can have some laugh after the trip.

Traveller's tip on shopping

If you go to Marrakesh make sure that you understand that everybody there wants to get as much money from you as possible and most probably you will end up paying 5 times the prise anyway. Make sure you agree te taxi fare before you get in. And when going for shopping it is best to try to look local (it means the dress code)- it worked for us!

Great Value, large rooms, lovely pool

This hotel is outside the Medina and maybe a 20 min walk to the Jma El Fna Square, however it is situated on a main road and is very easy to reach, with a taxi stand right next door. The rooms were huge - if a little bare and the beds incredibly comfy. Make sure you request a poolside room or odd number otherwise you will be facing the road which gets quite busy at night. Bathroom and toilet are separate which was perfect as I was sharing with my mum. Bathroom is well equipped but the shower was a little lacking in pressure. Pool was perfect especially after walking the dusty square and Medina. Always loads of space and towels available. Only disappointment was despite several requests early breakfast was not delivered and we left for a very early morning flight on hungry tummies. Overall - very good

Traveller's tip on dining

Try the Barakka Restaurant just off the Jma El Fna Square. Find it in one of the off roads by the horses and carriages. It is expensive but absolutely beautiful, wonderful food, great service and perfect!

Smart Hotel

Nice hotel on what used to be called Avenue De France if you have an old guide book. The room was smart but if you can get an odd numbered room to be on the pool rather than the road side. The breakfast has a vast array of choice. Good base to explore Marrakech - an easy walk to the Old town or a short taxi ride.

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

From the airport we paid 20 euro’s to the hotel (did not want to barter at 2am) but only paid 70 dirham’s on the return journey (about 7 euro’s).
