Worth a visit
hotel was fine and food was good , typical spanish buffet style but we always found something to eat and that we enjoyed. santa sussana very quiet resort, and hotel a good old walk from any bars and nightlife. Overall we enjoyed our time in the resort and the hotel

Big disappointment
I have two major complaints about this hotel: 1. The daytime reception staff were exteremely unhelpful although they claimed to be "trying their best". Below are some examples: a. Upon our arrival they failed to mention all the additional fees (not mentioned on expedia) including: the room safe, access to the minirefridgerator, and the pool towel deposit. b. One evening, they recommended a local restaurant, and upon our arrival there (by taxi) it was closed. c. They were not accomodating at all regarding our desire to change our itinerary from a 4 night stay to a 3 night stay due to an unfortunate accident. The relevant hotel managers were never available when needed. 2. The room was very average: a. Beds were not comfortable b. Air conditioning did not work in the first room c. Everything that is usually free of charge, such as the safe, refridgerator, and pool towel required an additional fee d. Bathtubs were not cleaned on a daily basis (if at all) 3. The location was very touristy - located near many other hotels. No good food in the area. The only attraction is the beach (which is across the street) and the proximity to the train station. If considering a trip to the Costa Brava, don’t stay in Santa Susanna - find yourself a hotel in the Tossa de mar area. A rental car is a must if you decide to stay in this hotel, because you will definitely want to explore outside of this town.

Nice hotel, shame about the location!
The Hotel was as good as a 4 Star holiday hotel gets, and we had no complaints. The only down side was Santa Susanna itself. There is little to see, it is not particularly pretty, and we would not go back to the resort. The hotel does seem to be the best in town, and we were grateful for that at least!
We flew to Barcelona. It is a long way, about 45 miles and very expensive to transfer by taxi. You really need to fly to Gerona which is much nearer.
