Problematic hotel

Very far from downtown. Lousy restaurant. No room service. Lounge/ bar very modest. Excellent breakfast. Comfortable, clean rooms. Nice staff. Worth staying here only if one has to be all day at the convention center and only wants to sleep afterwards.

Great value and location

THe hotel is in great condition. Breakfast was fresh, tasteful, and plentiful. The location near the train station was convienent. I will defintely stay again.

Get a multiple day T Bana ticket and you will save money going to a from Stockholm for meals, bsuiness, etc.

Good Hotel Modern and Clean

Nice modern hotel with a fresh new look. Corridors with light wood and nice carpets.Wardrobe in room a little small. Would have liked a kettle in room but there was a fridge. Only superior rooms have double beds. Bathroom nice and modern but soap just in dispenser. Breakfasts were good with fresh fruit, yogurts, cereals and cooked food. Staff were nice and helpful. I would have liked to be able to open the window in the bedroom. Air conditioning made a little gentle noise. Very near to station but felt a little isolated, not much nearby. Trains very frequent.

Brand new modern and clean.Terrific position for Exhibition center but far from the town centre.

Arrived late at night.Was told all rooms were full so gave me a suite for same rate.Rang room service for a sandwich but was told they only had burgers then was surprised that there was plenty of bread choice at the breakfast next morning(This was terrific and included in the room rate). Choice for dinner in the restaurant was very limited so did not eat there at all. Apart from this the hotel was great and would always stay here if going to the exhibition center.

Traveller's tip for business travellers

Attached to the exhibition center.Taxis are very expensive and the hotel is far from the town center.Unless you use the train(100 metres away)or have a car it will be expensive to see the sights.

Excellent value for the money.

The breakfast buffet was the best I have ever seen, all of excellent quality and with something to fit every taste. The rooms were immaculate and very well appointed.

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

Very pleasant 3 minute walk from the Pendeltag (commuter train) Alvsjo station. A pass for all the Stockholm local (SL) trains, subways (T-Bana), and buses for full week is only 260 SEK(~$43.00), just a bit more than a one way cab ride from downtown to the hotel.

Rica Talk Hotel Great Deal

We were delighted with our stay at the Rica Talk Hotel. At first, we were a little concerned about the distance from the Arlanda airport and city center; however, you need a Stockholm Card or rail pass for your stay in Stockholm anyway. The hotel is just a stone’s throw from the train station, three stops from the central station downtown. It took us only 6 or 7 minutes to get to the sites downtown. The breakfast, which is included, is incredible. For those of you who might be backpacking or traveling on a budget, you can even make sandwiches out of the lunchmeats available. The only negative was the fact that the hotel restaurant is closed for weekend days, but the bar serves a limited menu. Staff were wonderfully helpful.

Good for Trade Fairs

Hotel is very convenient for the Stockholm Trade Fairs. Quiet and comfortable. As expensive as you would expect in Stockholm.

Local train station is very convenient and much cheaper than taxi to get to city or airport.

This is away from the centre, but a very comfortable hotel and good value. The train ride in from Alvsjo is frequent and efficient - recommended

A bargain if you choose the right time

Spotlessly clean, if a little soulless. definitely worth the 10 minute train ride + 5 minute walk from central Stockholm. A great bargain if, like me , you can manage to stay there when they don’t have a conference on at the adjacent centre.

Stockholm can be odne on the cheap if you either have take advantage of the usually extensive breakfast buffets in hotels or take a "Dagens Lunch" - daily lunch - usually for around 70 kr.

Great affordable hotel

We chose this hotel based upon other reviews on the web and the fact that we couldn’t bear to spend as much money as was required to stay within the city. Rica Talk was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone. It is modern, clean, bright, comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. Hotel staff was friendly. Our one and only problem was that we couldn’t get their wireless to work on our computer....pretty minor problem. I was worried about difficulities getting to the hotel, but it was very easy -- there is a local train that runs several times an hour, and it was about a 10 minute trip total. You can see the hotel from the station....very easy. Overall, if you would like a more affordable option in Stockholm and don’t mind if you are not right in the heart, stay at Rica Talk!

Business Travelers

The hotel is located outside the city, but connected via a commuter station which is (Älvsjö), 5 minutes walk from hotel. There is a commuter train leaving to Stockholm Central Station 4-8 times per hour, where trip journey approx 10 minutes. Almost everything is automated in the hotel. There are no helpers to carry your luggage! But there is room service staff to clean your room! Check-in and check out is very fast. Wireless Internet was free.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

The hotel is part of the Stockholmsmässan’s convention center, and it is the best place to stay in Stockholm if you are attending an event in this center. Almost, there is nothing around the Hotel, but on the other side of the commuter station, there are few shops out of which there is a small supermarket. It is not recommended for families or leisure.

Stockholm’s finest hotel

It is a very warm and appealing hotel to stay in on holiday. The breakfast is a feast. Staff are all friendly. Transport connection to Central Stockholm is five to ten minutes walking distance from the hotel. I had a brilliant time.

Off the beaten path....

The Rica Talk is a new hotel with all the modern amenities, e.g., wireless connectivity, flat screen televisions. The complimentary brunch daily is enough to keep you going all day. The hotel is outside the city line so you will need a car, cab or train to get around. I highly recommend the hotel. The staff was courteous and friendly.

Expect to pay more for cab from the airport, be patient. Its worth the drive.

Almost Perfect

The hotel itself is very clean, the staff is friendly, we liked the modern design, it takes just 9 minutes from central station to get to the hotel by train (T-Bana tickets can be used) Unfortunately, the windows in the rooms can’t be opened, however, the airconditioning works fine. Additional hint: Leave the train at stop "Alvsjo", when getting off the station, make a left, you have to walk for about 3 minutes to the hotel. There are no shops (food, etc.) in the near vicinity of the hotel.
