Nice, friendly, central hotel

This is a nice hotel but I would not say that it’s a 5 star hotel but more a 4 star hotel. The rooms are pretty spacious but the pillows aren’t that comfy! Other than that, the hotel staff are very helpful and accommodated our needs and were knowledgeable. The Pastorie bar is a nice place to start the evening and we enjoyed the sauna/ steam room. The hotel location is very central and there are nice restaurants and breakfast places nearby.

Traveller's tip on dining

I would recommend the Mexican restaurant La Margarita which is only a 5 min walk away - turn right out of the hotel restaurant, turn left at the end of the road, walking towards the university buildings, turn right over the bridge heading towards Rokin and the restaurant is on your left hand side

Good stay, a bit too expensive

Loved the nespresso machine! The location was in a quiet street but very central. Too bad the rate is kind of expensive, but again everything is expensive in Amsterdam. The toiletries were really good too. (They upgraded us to business room and we had free wifi).

Not great

Very expensive for what it offers. Location is great but everything else is relatively poor. This is a hotel that really needs to modernize.
