Good hotel, v helpful staff!
Was impressed with the hotel it is housed in an internal courtyard that has shops together with 2 restaurants and a cafe - the Thai is particularly good it is very pretty inside almost like dining outside in a garden. The room was very warm we wondered why the duvet was flat you do not really need it! - you might have to ask for an extra pillow only one is provided and it is small! We really enjoyed your trip - make sure you get the welcome card it is great value for money as the hotel is a bit out of the way you will use the underground a lot. We gota taxi at the airport and got ripped off big time - check the fare before you get in should only be about 25 Euros approx we got charged 43!! - lots of shops so if you are a shopaholic this is the place for you!
You must go and do a city tour to get the history and story of Berlin, we did the bike tour however it was too fast and you did not get enough information, I would recommend a walking tour. Do go to the Holocaust Memorial Museum it is underneath the monument - very moving.

It will not let you down but won’t set the heart racing!
The location is a few hundred metres from Samariterstrasse U-Bahn ( from where it is just a few stops to the Alexanderplatz transport hub) but the hotel is up a side street to the left and the sign is easy to miss.The hotel location directions could be more helpful. Don’t bother going to Zoo on the bus from/to Tegel, you can get the ’TXL’ bus every few minutes straight to Alexanderplatz and get the U5 U-Bahn from there. Don’t bother with the hotel breakfast, there is a modern atrium courtyard accessible from the back of the hotel with a cafe and speciality restaurants. The hotel is clean, modern and well presented but is fairly typical of a European hotel chain 3* hotel with a limited lobby and bar area.Don’t go expecting any extra pleasant surprises.You get what you pay for and its a fair deal for what you get.
Don’t go to the very large Italian restaurant on the corner of Alexenderplatz. It expensive and over optimistic on how many it can serve. We waited for an hour for service and walked out. We were not the only ones.Try the Brauhuas Mitte instead, it doesn’t look very promising from the outside being on the edge of a 1980’s shopping centre. Inside is a different story with traditional german furnishings, good hearty food and excellent beer brewed on the premises. Service was lightening quick too! Georgbrau further down the river next to the statue of St George is also a great option for food and brewed on the premises beer.

It’s ok.
A little hard to find, fairly price, clean, a lot of traffic on street at nite maybe a little noisey. If you’re interested in staying in this part of Berlin, we would recommend.
