Stay Away

The shower/bath knob was broken (fortunately stuck on shower). The room safe was broken. The balcony door was broken. No air conditioning. The food was old and fruit mouldy. Couldn’t aways have balcony door open, though wanted to, as hashish was being freely smoked on other balconies. Some people will be happy to hear that. Hotel staff not very respectful.

Not overly impressed

The room itself was clean and well maintained, however staff at reception were most unhelpful. Usually you can trust the advice of hotel staff, however not the case here. They wouldn’t even provide a map of the city, in fact I found it almost impossible to get hold of one anywhere. Anytime I asked about the location of a place of interest, they simply pointed me in the direction of their taxi service, no matter how far the place was. Their taxi service was charging at least twice the going rate of the local orange cabs. Breakfast was of a poor standard too, consisting of stale bread and bad coffee. The hotel was quite cheap though, so I suppose you get what you pay for.

Traveller's tip on recreational activities

If you have a spare day, I would definitely recommend a visit to Taghazout. It’s a small fishing/surfing village about 20km from Agadir, only 5 DMA by bus (50 euro cents!). It’s beautiful place, really chilled out. You can hire a surf boad and get lessons for the day for about 40 euros, then relax and eat nice meal while watching the sunset. Nice!
