Delightful Hotel
This is an elegant hotel and we had a beautiful apartment ,quiet and sunny but were first shown to a room which was small and rather shabby.This was a mistake as we had booked an apartment and we were moved. We seemed to be the only 2 guests and although Viareggio was lovely it was closed for the season and we had difficulty finding open restaurants. We would visit again but at a different time of year.

Perhaps a better time to visit would be October or February

Viareggio hotel
The Esplenade was a very nice hotel with very helpful staff. We had an apartment room which meant we had a sitting room as well as a bedroom. This was very comfortable. My only complaint would have been about the view from the balcony - looking straight into the back of another building. Apart from this very nice and I would recommend it.
