Not for serious self caterers
We stayed in the Citea Besancon for 7 days. It is ideally situated near the town centre, only about 7 minutes walk from the old town but far enough out for a quick exit if you intend to tour around. We were given fresh towels every day and the room was kept clean and tidy. If you are intending to arrive by car I would recommend using the underground car park under the hotel. It is worth the expense as the nearest car park otherwise is about 4 minutes walk from the hotel. The one thing against this hotel is if you intend to go there to self-cater. There is no work surface, and the cooker is directly next to the sink and draining board which makes it incredibly difficult. It is fine if you need the facilities for boiling water for drinks etc but difficult for much else.

the facilities were very nice -good shower, nice kitchen and comfy bed, but we only stayed a night so didn’t get to use the kitchen. breakfast didn’t look good value for money though -so we didn’t try it. It nis not in the city centre and took a long bus ride to the train station. We wouldn’t normally spend so much, but we couldn’t find anything else.

Great value
very accommodating ; receptionist very helpful and pleasant. Our second visit to this hotel and equally as enjoyable. Shall return here in the future.
