good hotel indifferent staff
the hotel was well situated very close to a metro station and with a safe feeling " local community" with a wide choice of bars and restaurants. the room was comfortable. the down side was the indifference of the reception staff on arrival and departure. we had a car and there is only s/t on street parking in the area which restricts you significantly during the day.

Would stay again
Very good value for money and situated close to a Metro station, only two stops from the old town. Room was basic but clean and comfortable - our suite had its own terrace which was a lovely bonus. Situated over a supermarket which is convenient if you’re self-catering. We only ate breakfast at the City Suites one morning, and it was very good. There is a fantastic restaurant a few yards away, but it’s closed at weekends. No parking provision but we were lucky to find street parking nearby.
Ask for the room with the terrace on the 4th floor, as it seemed to be the only one. Very sunny and lovely to sit out there for breakfast or in the early evening sunshine. Take tea bags, coffee and milk as not always provided. Kettle provided, also good fridge - Monoprix downstairs good.

Great room for the money
Like others have said, the heated towel racks were a nice surprise. We went in the winter, so that was especially welcome. It is located further out in Lyon, not in the heart of the city, but the metro station is within viewing distance of the door of the hotel. You can be on the metro in 1 minute from leaving, and in the Place Bellcour within 5-10. Very convenient. Comes with a stove and dishes as well, and there is a Monoprix right next door, if you’d be wanting to do any cooking on your trip.
