Some good, some not so good points
It was the 3rd year we had visited this hotel. For a quiet, out of season, winter sunshine break the location is great. Sadly, there has been a change of ownership from Miramar to Barcelo chain and the quality of service has declined. In particular, the buffet dinner food was often of poor quality - looked like "cost cutting" was going on. Compared to last two visits, this year did not represent value for money. I hope things improve as we would like to return to the location.

Great Hammamet hotel for the winter season
Great hotel. Nice beachside location, plenty of facilities for visitors in the summer (indoor pool open only when visiting outside of season). Only downside is the location as slap bang in the middle between Hammamet and Yasmine Hammamet. However, there is a regular series of mini-trains that pass by, even in December. Food was excellent, with a lot of variety, with 2 salad carts as well as lots of meat and fab puddings! Staff are polite and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Traveller's tip on recreational activities
Definitely recommend the trips to the Sahara. We did a 2 night trip and did everything from camel rides to visiting oasis and horse carriage rides. These trips are best undertaken in the cooler months as it is a VERY LONG coach ride down south to undertake in the summer (plus there are less tourists in the winter).

Definitely wouldnt recommend this one!
I would not recommend this hotel if, like me, you are vegetarian. Even the salads contained meat or fish! Restaurant reminiscent of a holiday camp serving school dinners and once allocated a table, you are not allowed to change it. The bar area is comfortable and welcoming, until the childrens disco and entertainment starts up, which it did every evening! During our stay the majority of guests were German families. Maybe October is unsuitable for anyone else, but nobody offered this information. The grounds, pool and beach are great, but even as hotel guests we had to pay a daily fee for use of the sunbeds and pool towels are not supplied. Most hotel staff were friendly, but one or two were patronising and dismissive of females. My daughter and I, as unaccompanied females, definitely received service inferior to that received by couples and families. The room was spotless on arrival, but was not cleaned again (apart from towels being changed) before we left.
