You get what you pay for
The Hana Beach is a resort hotel with mainly Russian and German visitors. Staff at the hotel is helpful, but it helps if you can speak German. The hotel is in a perfect location overlooking the sea, and our room was clean and had a balcony facing the sea. The air-con made all the right noises, but didnt work. The taps in the bath only closed when being yanked a few times with force. Food was alright, we didnt like the hot food at dinner time at all, so ate out after the first evening. All in all I would recommend this hotel if you want to stay in a good location in a clean room and can live with less than prefect maintenance and eating out.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
The Ribat in Sousse is worth visiting. You can see the courtyard of the Great Mosque from there pretty well too.

nice but past its glory days
Nice location, the staff were excellent, though the room had not been cleaned yet when I was let in. When I did get a clean room the towels were damp. An adequate dinner was included in the price. The heat would not come on. Nice balcony with a nice view. Big room. Double bed was two singles pushed together with a big gap between.
Watch out for the cab drivers at the airport. Make sure they use the meter and make sure it works.

Good Location
The hotel is well situated in the third largest city in Tunisia (although it is not that large on the tourist scale), and allows easy access to other places of interest all over Tunisia. The rooms are basic, but dated and do not have a TV - I have styed here twice and never had a TV. All the hotel is very dated and badly needs modernization. They are clean to an average standard - for Tunisia. The food is mainland European/Tunisian based, seasonal and not very hot - the service friendly. If you check the rates of other hotels in the area and all you want is somewhere to sleep - great!
Traveller's tip
The Tunisian men are very attentive - so watch yourself you women out there. Take it all with a light heart and dont be afraid to say NO! Haggle for souvenirs/leather/carpets and taxis. Book, at least, one star higher than normal and you will get what your expect.
