Absolutely gorgeous
This riad is an architectural gem situatated within the walls of the medina. The rooms were exquisite and quite luxurious. The hotel was extremely well maintained, rooms were immaculately cleaned twice daily, and the bathrooms appointed with all modern appliances. There were plenty of power outlets for computers, etc. The restaurant was very pleasant and adequate. The only drawback I could determine was the fact that they did not take credit cards and I was sent out to a cash machine to pay for my stay, and promptly got completely lost. For a hotel of this caliber they should accept credit cards. A minor problem was the height of the bathtub - it was difficult to get into without feeling you were high jumping. I would definitely stay there again. Fes should be the destination in Morocco.

More a boutique hotel than a riad
This hotel was quite trendy and smart and did not feel much like a riad. The service was sometimes overdone (taking literally hours to finish cleaning our room) or sometimes very slow (when bringing food or drink). The pop music in the bar was so loud between 6 - 10 pm, you could hardly hear the person next to you. The food in the restaurant was generally served cold.
Traveller's tip on shopping
Expect to get totally hassled, especially by people wanting to be your guide. They could also turn rather nasty. All in all I preferred Marrakesch. The roofed medina has a very claustrophic feeling to it.

fantastic accommodation in heart of city
It would be impossible to find fault with this beautiful Riad. The building itself is impressive and exudes calm and tranquility despite being fairly large in Riad terms. The room was beautiful and well maintained with maid service twice daily. The restaurant served excellent food in beautiful surrounds and in fact we had our best Moroccan meals in this restaurant which was also reasonably priced. The all inclusive breakfast was also of high quality. All of the staff within this hotel were warm and welcoming and English was spoken to a high standard. We would most definately stay in this Riad again if we return to Fes.
