Not in Split
I booked in at this hotel thinking it was in Split only to find on arrival in Split that the hotel is on the very outskirts of the city and more in Podstrana. It was a 20 minute bus ride into to town. If you are going to Split there are many nearer hotels actually in Split. That said, the hotel was clean, the staff friendly and as a hotel represented fairly good value. Good hotel if you actually want to visit Podstrana

Not even close to a 5 star hotel
Decent size room but a very uncomfy bed (far too soft) which needed replacing. Shower fittings not complete and a tendancy for water to flood the floor (from the drain not the shower). Breakfast ok but very few facilities to justify the 4 stars the hotel claimed. Also there is very little in the neighbourhood so only consider if you have a car. Staff friendly though.
If you are going to stay outside of Split I would recommend Trogir rather than Podstrana. It is very beautiful with lots of attractions and is still easy to get into Split.

Disappointed by standard of room for a 4*
Having told the staff that my shower was broken and that plug sockets were hanging out of the wall, no effort was made during my stay to fix them , and no apology given. The location of the hotel means that you either need to travel into Split each day, or spend time at the Meridien; as apart from lie on the beach there is little else to do/see in Podtstrana itself.
