Don’t stay here
Read all the reviews, thought I didn’t care about the "redlight" location. Turns out, it’s real bad. Besides the noise and the constant crowd of prostitutes 20 meters away from the entrance, someone regularly slams the doors really loud around 3-4AM. Makes the whole building shake... Worst sleep I’ve gotten in a long time, and I spent two nights there.

There is a Russian Deli store called Troika about 200 meters away from the hotel, recommend you check it out.

Great for price and location
again, great for price and location. though it resides next to a corner that is occupied by many prostitutes. once they realized we were not customers, no big deal. walk to most everything in the gothic section and the waterfront. only 2 blocks from las ramblas and subway stop. hotel was very safe, even if the ’hood felt otherwise.

be aware of where you actually are. the street walkers are a bit aggressive. but, again, once they knew we were not customers, they left us alone. actually greeted us quite pleasantly. but be aware.

Gem of a hotel tucked on a quiet street
The staff is friendly, nice and extremely helpful. The rooms we stayed in were spotless. Exploring the old city and harbor area very easy, close to many restaurants and attractions - walking distance to most, metro acces less than 5 minutes away! Only drawback: noise from the "working girls" & their clients just around the corner...Still, we saw families & even some locals staying in this hotel...I would stay here again as it is a worthwile bargain!
