lovely hotel
One criticism! On hearing fire alarm 7.30 a.m. we immediately vacated our room. We followed the crowd down the fire exit staircase. No member of staff was about to assist us. We stood outside in the rain for about 15 minutes - again there was no staff member to inform or assist us. It appeared that one of the guests had telephoned and alerted the fire brigade! It was only when two fire engines turned up that we were told that we could go back into the hotel. This episode was very badly managed. No explanation or apology was received from the management. What a shame - apart from this incident the weekend would have been perfect.

Gorgeous Hotel
stayed at this hotel overnight with a friend and have to say i was not disappointed with the hotel. lovely hotel with lots of character but still has all the mod cons you would expect of a 4 star hotel. lovely room with extremely comfortable bed and plenty of room in the bathroom. the outside patio area is a fab place to sit out in the sun and enjoy a drink or a coffee or their lovely afternoon tea with sandwiches and cakes. we did eat sunday lunch in the restaurant and both enjoyed it very much. fresh cooked vegetables and lovely roast beef with yorkshire pudding, no frozen nasties here all freshly cooked and wonderful. oh and you have to try the desserts, they are also home made and to die for! they do a special of two courses for £15 and it was very good value. no problem with parking at this hotel either and you really must try the pool, was lovely and so very different to the usual hotel pools. would deffo use this hotel again, only down side is there is not too much in the immediate area if you wanted to go outside the hotel for entertainment in the evening. lots of pubs close by but none of which looked very inviting to two ladies on their own, bit scary actually. couldnt fault the hotel though, lovely service, lovely room, good food and lovely by the river during the day in nice weather.

Best in Bedford
Great hotel. Historic. Good location. Parking available. Carpets in corridor smell.
