Montmartre’s little hidden secret
Stayed at the Relais Montmartre for 3 nights. Reception staff wonderfully informative and helpful. Internet/wifi is very very slow, this is the only negative thing I have to say about the hotel. Breakfast was until 10am but I did not eat at the hotel. Hotel is 2 streets behind the Moulin Rouge/Blanche Metro stop in a quiet side street. Area is bussling with shops, cafes and restaurants all open until the early hours including a Starbucks! Though the area did have some late night shows and establishments, I felt safe walking around and was not hassled one bit. I would stay here again.
Take a tour if you want to see the Eiffel Tower so you do not need to stand in line and queue to get tickets to go up. Every hour on the hour for 5 minutes there is a light & show display. Excellent. Buy a 1/3 or 5 day bus/metro pass at the airport when you arrive.

ok, but not great
In August, my fiance and I stayed in Paris a few nights in two different hotels. This was the more expensive, yet least favorite of the two. The "double" room, presented as a queen size bed, was actually two twin beds pushed together, but other than that the room was satisfactory enough. The street is a nice sidestreet a block behind the cafe where "Amelie" worked in the movie. The garbage collection is a bit noisy at 6am, but we were up anyway for a flight. The staff were very courteous.

Perfect
This was a lovely hotel in an exciting and fun area. I definitely would recommend
Cheap chinese available down the road towards Blanche metro station if you don’t fancy the usual Parisien prices!
