Best Western New Century Hotel Shanghai
This hotel is a 4-star hotel located in the north of Shanghai. It is convenient to go to the New Bund, Yuyuan Guarden, the People Square. Transfer to other places like the center of east part of the Huangpu River is also very convenient. The room rate from expedia is much cheaper than other local travel agency. But the facilities and maintenance of this hotel does not match the 4-star grade hotel, beacause the hotel looks old, anyway it is clean. If you do not care about the facilities and conditions of hotel, it is a good choice for your trip.

1) Shanghai is a big city with a huge population. 2) Take subway to go around everywhere to control your time 3) The subway is crowded during the peak time in the city 4) The city is safe but need to take care about your stuff to avoid thieves

Helpful staff
The staff of the hotel were helpful. We used to ask them to find and purchase train tickets for us which they did as best as they could. Only slight problem - communication in English with the receptionists. However, the concierge was really good in this respect.
Traveller's tip
Be aware that the famous Bund, the walking promenade along the river is completely blocked off due to construction work. You can get to the tunnel and walk over to the other side of the river (costs 50RMB) but will not get nice views. The high fencing will be in your way.
