Relaxing apartments
Liked the arrangements of apartments around pools. Really too far to walk to beach. Free bus. Fair walk to Faro 2 for restaurants with underpass under major road. Lot of shops/restaurants on melonaras beachfront
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Beautiful park nearby past football pitches.

Gran Canaria......KOALA GARDEN SUITES, HOLIDAY WORLD....
My boyfriend and I spent ten days at Koala Garden Suites. We went s/c and found our large apartment good for our needs. I cooked dinner twice during the trip and improvised where necessary! The hotel was cleaned every few days, but cleaned things thoroughly ourselves. If we needed towels we spoke with the cleaning ladies who would leave new ones on the big single beds! The suites cute cats had little cat homes dotted around the place! The supermarket was ok, but there was a bigger one at the Faro2 Centre. Walk over to the Faro2 Centre for dinner - you can eat Mexican or spicy kebabs in a romantic little place on the top floor! To the local people Holiday World is the equivalent of the Trocadero in Piccadilly Circus! We had a whale of a time, playing pool and we even got to see ELVIS! Oh yea we would like to say a big THANKS to CARL (Midnight Pub) who really looked after us!!! The hotel provides a free shuttle for the beach, which is a 5min drive. Loungers cost euro7 for two for as long as you want. We took a bottle of water, towels, sun cream and camera and were happy for a couple of hours! We were disappointed with Koalas GYM that seemed to date back to BC years, as the gym was a major factor us staying! However, we sought a deal with the Wellness Centre at Holiday World sharing a 10 day pass @ euro65 (51gbp). Totally worth it as the fitness equipment was top class and what made it even better was the private rooftop swimming pool with sunbathing loungers!
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
We are thinking of going back to Gran Canaria next year and would definitely stay s/c at Koala, however, this time we would take a few household/food essentials with us. We had a really, really enjoyable stay and would recommend staying at KOALA GARDEN SUITES.

It was adequate
The best words I can find for describing the apartment was adequate. It just about passes as clean. There was a maid who made the beds and brought fresh towels, although the floor was quite dirty - which as we were mostly walking about bare foot was not very nice. There was a small shop on site which seemed to stocked most things that youd want to buy and there was plenty of food places within walking distance of the site. They did supply a free bus to the beach but as wed hired a car we did not take advantage of this. The pool was clean with a lifeguard on duty between 10am & 6pm and there seemed to be free li-los around if you wanted to use one. There was a TV but it only had CNN in English and the rest was in German (just incase you cant be without a TV on your holiday!)
Traveller's tip on dining
For food other than pizza or chips I would recommend taking a trip along to the sea front at Maspolomas where there is plenty of shopping and seafront dining. We dined at a place called the Faro grill (next to Grande Italia - which was also recommended to us) although the steakhouse at Faro2 did an excellent peppered steak if you prefer simpler food within walking distance. Give Lucky Lukes Mexican a miss as it seemed to mostly come out of a can or a microwave.
