Great hotel for great price
Hotel was about 8 minutes by bus from the Dubrovnik center. There is a bus station right in the front of the hotel and you can take number 4 to the center. We didn’t try the food because we flew early in the morning out. We did see the evening menu (buffet style) and it looked awesome. They had better price for people staying in the hotel and I have to say that for all the different food choices in the buffet it was a great price. Otherwise make sure you check out the city center, the castle and other local restaurants. To get to the airport from the hotel we paid 260 kuna (you have to bargain) and it is about 30 minutes away.

Missed the fact it had no pool
overall the hotel rated very good on the criteria section of this questionaire, however I would emphasis that while we were on holidays we did miss having the option to go to the pool. Also I found the restaurant expensive and basic, the food actually tasted better than it looked (ironically) I would recommend the hotel uvala across the road if I was to stay in the same part of Dubrovnik, it was more modern (Splendid had an 80’s feel to it) whereas uvala was more modern and the aromatherapy massage was to die for! Splendid is an excellent location if you want to take trips in and out of old town dubrovnik as the bus stop is right outside, if you were to stay on the other side of the beach in lapad you have a better choice of restaurants and bars than on the side splendid is on, you are restricted to the hotel being the only bar and restaurant - it rained for 3days out of our holiday and personally I thought one night in the bar was enough!

Hotel Splendid really Splendid
definately worth a visit , difficult to find a fault with the Hotel and staff.
