Good weekend value

We went to Brussels for our daughter’s wedding. We found the desk staff not very welcoming, but our room was very nice. We slept well - it was comfortable and quiet - and thought the bathroom was excellent. All a bit sparse though, with no pictures on the room or corridor walls, and the exchange rate made breakfast very pricey for us Brits! However it was very cheap and very good value and I can’t really fault it.. Would definitely recommend.

Nearly there

A nearly brand new hotel. It’s clean, modern and functional and the rooms are a good size and, overall, very comfortable. But signs of weak maintenance. After we checked in for a weekend break we found the air conditioning didn’t work. Technician arrived, and said it would have to wait until tomorrow to be fixed. Desk staff offered a change of room but being tired and already unpacked we decided to wait until the following day. Anyhow, the next day it still couldn’t be fixed and although offered another room we decided it was too much hassle and stayed put. Not a huge issue BUT I think basics like this should be checked before guests are checked in, not after. It would have been a nice gesture to be offered an upgrade but we weren’t. Other niggles were a bath mat that obviously hadn’t been changed and a wobbly shower head holder. Not the end of the world but, hey, this place is only 3-4 years old and the room maintenance should be better. Location a bit off centre for the tourist but OK. Don’t pay the ripoff 30 euros a night for parking - just now there’s a vacant lot next door where you can park and the street next to the hotel is not metered. So, try this place, you won’t find better value in a weekend break - but check out the room facilities before you unpack!

Great Location

Right outside the Parliament. From Charleroi take the airport bus to Charleroi which is 8 miles away. The staff speak good English and the journey on the train is 8.60 euro one way. Get off at Gare du midi cross the concourse and get the metro to Trone. You can walk to the hotel. The hotel is very plush and we were upgraded to a suite free of charge. Breakfast is 15 euro so forget it. Get the 95 bus to Grand Place its where everything is. Get the 95 back and it drops you by the hotel which is near to bars and a little supermarket where the beer prices are very cheap 2.40 euro for a large Leffe. Beer in Brussels is very expensive on average 4.50 euro. Its a great city with lots to see and worth seeing, just go to Brussels airport not charleroi as it a 2hr journey to get to the hotel.
