Good budget hotel
Don’t go there if you’re expecting the Ritz, but if you want a cheap, clean basic hotel right in the centre of Chartres it’s perfect. The staff are very friendly and there’s reduced rate parking nearby.

Great for the price
We got this hotel for very cheap and it was exactly what we were looking for: a simple, clean place to lay our heads. The hotel looked like it had been refurbished recently and the staff was very nice. The hotel was super easy to find as it’s right across from the train station. The only blemish I could see what that it wasn’t in the heart of the old city (which was breathtaking). However, it was only a couple blocks walk to the cathedral and old city so we had it pretty good.
Traveller's tip on shopping
Although we loved our excursion to Chartres, we got there Saturday afternoon and the old town was bustling w/ activity. Lots of neat shops and good eats. We couldn’t wait to come back Sunday and experience all of it. Wrong! Most of the shops were closed on Sunday. Chartres is a lovely town (we considered moving there on the spot!). But if you want to do the shops, best avoid Sunday.

Good stuff, good value
This is a fine little hotel, just across from the train station. It is within a minute or two’s walk from the cathedral. Facilities are basic but perfectly good for the money. The room was clean and pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful. For the price, this hotel is excellent. In summary: good stuff. Thank you Hotel Jehan de Beauce.
