A good value hotel with excellent staff
We stayed at the Petros in June before Zante gets really busy. The hotel Petros did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly and offered good advice about local attractions. Although very clean, our room was quite basic but did have a balcony which overlooked the hotel pool.There was a TV but it only showed Greek television- I am not sure why as the overwhelming majority of holiday makers in Zante are English!! The hotel was very quiet and we were never kept awake by other guests. The location of the hotel is convenient- it is situated about 5 minutes’ walk from Tsilivi resort where the shops and restautants are and is about a 10 minute walk from Tsilivi beach. The beach is fairy clean but even in June, it was very crowded. The hotel was good value for money and is ideal for couples and families, as Tsilivi is one of the quieter resorts on Zante. There is an excellent selection of Restaurants in Tsilivi and you can get a meal for 2 with drinks/deserts etc for 20 Euros.Overall I would definitely recommend the Hotel Petros as a clean and good value hotel with staff who go the extra mile for the guests.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
One thing we noticed was that some shop owners tried to overcharge us so we learned to establish the price of something before agreeing to buy! Be careful when going into small shops and buying more than one item- you can be overcharged if you don’t add the cost up before. Also when getting a Taxi to and from the aiport I would recommend establishing the fee beforehand.
