Hotel about to close

This older hotel is about to close. The rooms are Spartan but clean. Facilities are in slight disrepair and naturally with the impending closure only necessary repairs are done. On the other hand the rate I paid was very low and I cannot really complain, but unless you are young or poor I would stay someplace else.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Don’t rent a car for your entire trip. Traffic is crazy and the roads are terrible. It is easy to get about Sliema and Valetta by bus, ferry and on foot. You might consider renting a car for a day or two to cover some of the outlying sights, but there are also very reasonable open top bus tours that allow you to get on and off at all the major spots of interest.

If you want hospitality and genuinly friendly staff this is the place for you

This hotel is in an excellent position and the reception and common areas are very comfortable. Maybe you could say they are not the most modern but i have stayed in the best and worst hotels and for me the most important part of your stay is the reception you receive and the continued friendliness during your stay. The rooms are adequate. This is not a new hotel. If you are looking to impress someone then this isn’t the hotel for you. If you are with your family or friends you wont fnd a better place to stay. The metropole in Sliema and the Grand Harbour in Valletta I recommend.Fantastic staff, Good Value and excellent position. Is there anything else.

More like a youth hostel than a hotel

It was really cheap, so I can’t really complain about value for money, and it is in quite nice area, but it’s basically a youth hostel full of teenagers and students and there was no air conditioning in the room, so it was very hot and uncomfortable. The balcony door was also broken, so there’s not much security for your personal items.
