Really unfriendly staff
This should be a lot better. The staff ruin this hotel. Really unfriendly, ignore you when you want their help. They do not have a map of the area and their bus service from the ferry port is not great. The swimming pool was not open, wi fi costs 15 US a day. There is a poor excuse for a hotel bar and the restaurant is like a canteen in a hospital. I know it is a 3 star but if the staff would help you, then .... I went to reception to find out when the next bus to their assicated casino was only to be told to wait as she gave her lunch order, the other 2 receptionists helped her with her order. The bus stops at 7pm by the way another time I asked for a map, the 3 receptionists consulted each other then asked for my room key. I was then locked out of my room. Better off avoiding this place, not helpful at all

great room for the money
Best western is a good hotel for the money in Macau, comparing to other hotels in Macau having steep hotel rates, and if the hotel is cheap is from Chinese decent meaning they are not well maintained, unless or otherwise you are staying in one of the western casinos which is either complimentary or very expensive. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and location is not bad.

Needs Improvement
Even though we did not have high expectations when we booked this hotel due to others reviews we had read on this site, the hotel still disappointed us. We needed to change rooms because our first room was very dimply lit and had very little natural light. The rooms need to a renovation and have a very tired feel. Our second room was better but still needed improvement. We found the staff helpful and very kind, so this made the stay better for us. A nice part is that the hotel is located only a few blocks from McDonalds (where we went for coffee) and is a quick taxi ride to The Venetian. Although the hotel serves a breakfast buffet, it did not look too appetizing. In many of the reviews we read about this hotel, it was noted hat the beds are very hard. This is true, but they are not intolerable. It was not easy to find someone at the Front Desk who spoke English either. The hotel has a shuttle from The Macau Ferry Station but it does not run as frequently as the bigger hotels and casinos. However, it seemed like you could use the other shuttled to go around Macau and for no cost. If you are looking for a no frills hotel that is close to the action, where you can basically just sleep, this is a good choice.
