Could have been great!
On arrival at Aloha Gardens we were a little disappointed with the reception which looked a bit like it had got stuck in a time warp. The reception we received from the staff was to be honest indifferent and not at all welcoming. We then had the ordeal of lugging our suitcases up and down several steep staircases, which was no joke (staff did not warn us of this, so beware!) Do not even think of staying here if you have difficulty with stairs or have a pushchair or buggy, it is ridiculous! On the plus side the apartment we stayed in was clean and spacious with 3 lovely terraces with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The kitchen was well equipped but the furnishings were tired and dated elsewhere in the apartment. The TV was so small I could barely see the screen and only showed a couple of English channels. The gardens and apartment are beautifully maintained and it was a pleasure walking around the communal areas. The pool areas were clean and uncrowded (obviously out of season), but I think it would have been far too small in the height of season. The location was great, not too far from Puerto Banus or Marbella and a couple of good local restaurants. Wed particularly recommend the Girasol. We had a good holiday here but a few minor adjustments to the apartments and staff could have made it a great holiday.

Beautiful Appartment Good Location
This Complex was well maintained and has Lovely Gardens. We had young children with us and found it not very Child Friendly due to the amount of steps which must be climbed to get to Your Appartment or Pool.
There are a couple of Shops nearby which are very handy. There are also a few restruants in the location.

Aloha gardens
Aloha gardens is beautiful ,there are 3 swimming pools, lots of beautiful gardens and it is all private. There are tennis courts and a gym too although we never used these facilities. It is very safe with secured access into the grounds. There is a pool that has a slide which is good for families. The receptionists are very helpful, especailly the lady with the curly red hair. We would advise that you have a car , although we didnt and you can walk to Puerto banus beach in 30 mins. There is a mini supermarket, newsagent, laundrette and restuarants within 5 minutes walk. With your back to reception ,walk left down the hill past the tennis courts then you will find shops.Keep walking down to the mini roundabout and then left and you will see another supermarket . There is a lovely resturant called the palm tree,a family run restuarant, very good food and service. If you dont have a car ,when you get to malage airport walk outside once through arrivals and turn right ,you will see a bus stop. There is a bus that runs from the airport straight to marbella bus station for 4euros 50 .We then got a taxi for 14 euros from the bus station to aloha. We used local buses to get back from a safari park called selwoo and they are very efficient. Aloha is a lovely place, handy for golfers .I would go back. The apartments are lovely and the maid service is good too.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Puerto banus beach is lovely, the waves are fab so buy a boogie board. Beds cost 6 euros each to hire. Selwoo is worth visiting if you like animals, ther are elephants, giraffes, bears etc.it is huge and you can walk for hours, you get buses to the main parts.
