Not Exactly What I Expected!
For the price, I was expecting a different atmosphere. We stayed in nicer hotels for about $30.00 less. The room was nice, but again, I was expecting something else, I guess because of the name- I thought it would be more ’antibellum period’ hotel, or something! My ’visualization’ was not reality!

BEAUTIFUL HOTEL IN SUPERB LOCATION
My wife and I decided to stay here based on the central location and we were not disappointed in any way. The hotel is beautifully decorated and maintained. Rooms are spacious and extremely comfortable bed - although pillows could be larger. Staff courteous and pleasant. Excellent pool & fitness suite - also extremely useful guest laundry,. Location superb and right beside visitor centre with stop outside hotel for trolley bus [free]. I would highky recommend this hotel for a stay in beautiful Staunton, Virginia.
The best place we found to eat in Staunton was The Beverley Restaurant which is just around the corner from the hotel. The Visitor Center is well worth a visit and the staff are so helpful and friendly - also worth a visit is the Frontier Culture Museum in Staunton & don’t forget to visit the gift shop to buy some of their delicious home-made fudge. Staunton and this hotel are an excellent base from which to tour the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.

Small Tow, Rich History
I usually stay at another location, but it was time for a change. I knew Staunton was awarded the Main Street America Award and was going through many historical restorations, which I believe the Stonewall Jackson Hotel was apart of this restoration. Stonewall Jackson is unique hotel, because I enjoy architecture so much I really appreciated this building. The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledge. Room service is never interrupting -- I like to sleep in while on holiday. The restaurant is one of the many elegant places for dining. I recommend this hotel to anyone.
