Great spot. Would stay again.
Good price, great spot, clean, safe. Before I went with my wife I read here some bad reviews, but I had a good feeling, and I was right! Not the best hotel ever, but was a fair stay. I recommend it!!

Old hotel, quite dated , but very central for all the site seeing and shows
On entering the reception the first impression is good, desk clerks booked guests into their rooms quite quickly . We were given a room on the 8th floor, all the lifts worked no complaints there , the room was a descent size it could have done with a lick of paint espescialy the bathroom which had flaking paint on the ceiling due to a lack of ventilation . the room was clean the bed comfortable the towels changed every day , there was always plenty of hot water for a bath. We fully enjoyed our stay and would return to this hotel, if you want a hotel within walking distance to anything you want to see this is the one, we slept in our room and spent the days site seeing ,Madison square garden is across the avenue as is Penn station , there are various Irsh bars and eateries on 33rd st at the side entrance to hotel Pennsylvania . Broadway and times square are 10 to 15 mins walk ,Cental park 20 to 30 mins , ground zero 30 mins but if you dont like walking and taking in all the culture and sights you can jump in a yellow cab or take the underground just go and enjoy we did , happy travelling.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
If you can, walk you see so much more than from a bus or a taxi, if your not satisfied with your room the manager will try to change it just be polite they are.
