Great ammenities

This is not the hotel for you if you’re not going to spend any time in your hotel. You’re paying extra for the additional items the hotel has to offer, like a Miami style rooftop pool and tapas bar, a spa pool in the coolest basement grotto, and balconies that overlook La Rambla, from where we watched the La Merce parade. The hotel is clean as a whistle. The decor is a neat combination of modern and rustic. The bathrooms are spacious and full of the most current luxuries. I wish we could have spent a week here.

Traveller's tip on dining

Do not order paella at the sidewalk cafes on La Rambla. They’re all the same - terrible. Head down to the waterfront where there are a string of five expensive but good restaurants lining the harbor. It’s worth the expense for the experience. Plan to stay a while and enjoy the view.

Heaven on the roof

You must visit this hotel when the roof terrace is open in the spring and summer. Huge soft sofas and even a couple of king size beds await on the 7th floor along with a pool and bar. Quite brilliant. Also the spa was small but relaxed and the service excellent. Not cheap but you wouldn’t expect it. If flying in it’s 30 euros by cab - the pre-booked transfers never materialised with Aerocity so I wouldn’t bother.

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

Don’t pre-book the transfers. Ours never showed up and never answered the phones. Taxis to Les Ramble are 30 euro so cheaper for a group than the bus. Try the great market by the art gallery on Le Ramble - great food and low cost. The waterfront is a must also with some lovely restaurants waterside at the back of the building.
