Hotel Zephyros

One of my favorite places in Greece

This hotel was a nice surprise on a couple fronts. I specifically wanted a hotel that had some reviews written about it. I also debated in which city to stay in Santorini since it was my first visit. Hotel Zephorys and Kamari Beach ended up a good choice. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the beach, and there are nice restaurants, a good travel agency, a couple markets, and a laundry just a minute away. The hotel was very clean and well kept. It had a nice breakfast in the morning that was included in the price, some common areas for people to socialize, a free internet station in the lobby, and one of the best pools on Santorini with a nice bar. The family that runs it is very helpful. They speak English, German, and Greek (probably others too). They gave me great tips on what to do, what to see, the easiest and cheapest ways to get around. I loved Santorini. I visited 8 islands, and it was the one I chose to go back to at the end of my trip. I loved Kamari Beach. Everything was less expensive there compared to Fira and Oia, and you were a short bus ride from anywhere on the island. I really like this hotel. I stayed in bigger hotels, much more expensive hotels, and hotels with different amenities all around Greece. Being the type that always looks at what he is getting for what he is paying, I felt that this was a good value, and I would stay here again.

If you are coming from Athens and the prices are similar, I would recommend flying rather than taking the slow ferry or fast boat. If you really want to take a boat, go down to the port of Athens where you can see the schedules of all the ferry lines. At some travel agencies, they only carry certain lines. At the port you can find ferries with fewer stops and that work better with your plans.

Great Value

The staff were efficient, unobtrusive, and professional. If you needed them, they were helpful and friendly, but if you wanted to be left alone, they let you get on with it. The hotel was clean, quiet, well maintained and comfortable. Great value. We have actually been back to the same hotel twice....which we have never done before. It’s nothing spectacular. Just quietly competent and pleasant. Something that should be easy, but so many hotels can’t seem to pull off.

Nice, clean, basic hotel

Lovely big pool with diving board. helpful staff. nice clean basic rooms. shower not great but otherwise very satisfied with hotel.good balcony space. lots of Germans there. within walking distance of beach, bars and restaurants. nice quiet location.
