Beautiful city, ok hotel
The staff was not as friendly/helpful as other places I stayed in Provence. Parking was very difficult, as it seems to be everywhere in Nice. The hotel could stand some refurbishment, but it was clean, the location is very good and the view from the balcony is good.

disappointment
the staff at the hotel where very nice and helpful not a bad location I know this was a 2 star hotel and we expected basic but it could have been a lot cleaner.dirty corners and the couch had a big stain on its cover,and i dont think the balcony had seen a brush and mop for months, wouldnt stay here again
loved nice loads to see didnt think the tour bus was worth 20euros lovely front the evenings in nice are very atmospheric

Exactly as was promised
Me and my mun enjoyed our stay in Citea for the ten days that we spent in Nice. The hotel and our room looked good and exactly as in the Hotels.com pictures. The room was well stocked, comfortable, and there were no disturbing noises from outside. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Special thank you for the English language skills of the Reception workers. The room was cleaned every day and the maids were friendly despite the language barrier (neither me or mum speak French). The only minuses were that the air conditioning didn’t cool the air enough. We’re from Finland, so room temperature of 23 to 25 celsius was too high. Especially when it was a considerably hot Autumn for France (it was about 30 degrees even in the evening). Also, true to French and Italian hotel cleaning customs, the floor wasn’t cleaned, so one had to wear shoes at all times (otherwise you may develop a rash because of the bacteria on the floor). All in all, I would love to stay in Citea again (perhaps at a time of year when the temperature was milder) and take more advantage of the cooking possibilities. There was no oven but otherwise the kitchenette was well stocked.
Local nightlife is centered in the old city. Walk towards the beach and you can find many bars - especially once you get to the huge market place surrounded by bars and restaurants. There’s also a night club (High or somesuch) on the beach boulevard near Negresco Hotel. One good place, a bit off to the market place, is Wayne’s Bar. It’s always crammed and there is a very good live band. It’s very hot inside, so if dancing is your thing wear as little as possible.
