Top hotel, top stopver
The Istana was a superb, smart, modern hotel. The view of the Petronas towers from our room was worth the stay there alone. All the staff were incredibly friendly and curteous. Kuala Lumpur was the perfect stopover. A wonderfully vibrant city with a mixture of old and new that most cities have lost.
Go and spend an evening wandering around the central market in China Town, then sit and people watch for a while. The food is amazing and the people entertaining.
