Highly recommended
Just returned from a weeks break there. Really nice peaceful location and although I cannot comment on the food (I opted for room only) the complex was immaculately kept and maintained. Dont forget to ask for a gate pass (gives easier access to the town and requires a 12 euro deposit). The pools are great but I never bothered with any of the onsight entertaiment. In my opinion the aparthotel shop (we had to use the Sun Tropical one as the Sun Island one was closed - there is little distance difference between the two)was similarly priced to the Netto and Spar shops in the town with a reasonable stock and the days latest British newspapers.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
Visting attractions here isn’t cheap. I found the usual price 8 euro a visit. The 6 attractions for 30 euro was reasonable value, giving you Jameos, Cuevas Verde, Timanfya, Mirador, Jardin de Cactus and art gallery in Arrecife inclusive entry. Dont forget to see the Funadacion Cesar Manrique too in Tahiche (not included).
