Good hotel in ideal location
Hotel in good condition, with efficient and very helpful staff. Lovely room. Excellent location near town centre, beach and casino district. However, it was strange that bar closed at 9.30pm!!!! But good bars / cafes / restaurants nearby.

Fine beach....with cafes. Town offers much for the visitor...although can be a little expensive.

Fantastic value hotel, great location!
Really enjoyed our stay at the Mercure Biarritz Centre Plaza and was surprised by the comfort and quality of the hotel for a 3 star rating. We could not fault the cleanliness. Breakfast is pricy, so visit the cafe behind the hotel or the brasserie in the square and get a nice breakfast for a fraction of the price. The location was brilliant and the bus stops are 30 secs walk away + you are right on the seafront.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Visit Bayonne. You can take the bus and the journey will take you through the local area and is about 30 mins. Lots of lovely shops and restaurants. St Jean du Luz is also worth a visit. You can take a coach (once per hour so check the times). It has a lovely beach and plenty of seafood restaurants.

would most certainly recommend
Superb location close to the main beach. Better than average breakfast. Nice room with aircon. Friendly helpful staff. We stayed for 7 nights in mid June. The resort was busy but not too busy, perhaps it was early in the season. Before travelling we considered other similarly priced hotels, via the internet, in Biarritz, and whilst we were staying there we checked them out and were more than delighted with our choice of the Mercure Plaza.
Traveller's tip
If you want to visit San Sebastion in Spain while you are there, the easiest and cheapest way is to take the number 2 STAB bus to the railway station, then the SCNF train to Hendaye, and finally the small shuttle train (Eusko Tren) to Donostia (Amara). There is no same day return bus service.
