Great place in Oslo
The Bristol is a beautiful hotel with a great staff. The lobby is always bustling with activity. It is close to everything in the city and convenient to public transportation.

Lovely hotel with amazing breakfast!!
The Bristol Hotel is close to the harbour, National Gallery train station and the city centre all just a short walk away. When we arrived our double room was actually 2 singles pushed together but apparently thats just how they do double rooms in Oslo. The very helpful porter suggested that they could tape the beds together if we were fearful of falling down the gap but we assured him this would not be necessary! The hotel is charming and the reception bar area has a fantastic buzz about it - it seemed constantly to be full of people enjoying themselves. The breakfast was phenominal - so much to choose from and stock up a good feed in the morning - everything from cooked british breakfast bits (the meatballs must be tried!!) to continental rolls, cereals, pastries, huge selection of teas, cheeses and cooked meats and fruit. This is a huge benefit as anyone who has been to Oslo before will tell you it is a VERY expensive city to eat and drink in. If you can afford to eat breakfast late to tide you over for lunch then I highly recommend it!! A beer, cup of tea and one slice of cheesecake set us back nearly £20.00 in a seemingly humble cafe/bar!! The staff are friendly and helpful and if we could afford to go back in the future we would definitely stay there again. The only negative thing was that on the Friday night it was a bit noisy in the street outside but we were staying during the Oktoberfest so I guess that is to be expected and it wasnt too loud.
Very expensive city generally but especially evident when eating out. If you want a taste of Norway try Mauds restaurant - you get 20% off their 3 course set menu. It still isnt cheap but you have to try the fermented fish!! Youll either love it or hate it but at least you will have tried it! The staff there are very welcoming and know a lot about the food and make good recommendations and suggestions.

This was more than we were expecting and I would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone
This was a lovely stay in Oslo with great value for money as far as the hotel goes. The tables at breakfast were groaning with different types of food catering for all tastes. The service was excellent from front desk to restaurant - no minus points all plus.
