Needs new mattresses
Unfortunately, the mattress I slept on was old and springy. Otherwise, this is a basic, no frills hotel, good if you just need a place to sleep for the night and aren’t looking for a cushy room to hang out in. The traffic on Lombard Street can get a bit noisy.

staff was wonderful
the staff at this hotel made up for the 70’s decor. They could not have been more helpful. The traffic is a bit loud at night. Could not beat the price.

A Gem with Free Car Parking
Booked this hotel on the basis of positive feedbacks and free car parking. It wasn’t to disappoint - the hotel room was spacious with the expected facilities and a comfy bed. Not in the room was a safe and refrigerator but these could be accommodated should you require one. We where on the back of the hotel on the 2nd floor and it was quiet throughout the night. If on the front then I guess there would be some noise since, after all, it is Lombard Street which is route 101. Double-glazed so this would certainly help. Plenty of car parking spaces but should it be a problem there is street parking available. On the bus route or one block away is another bus route going downtown.
There is a Safeway 24-hour supermarket 5 blocks away (Marine blvd) - 2 mins car / 10 mins walk. KFC - 2 min walk away and Mel’s Diner - 5 mins walk.
