Great location
A great location in Sorrento, fantastic views and easy to get to main areas of interest. The hotel was very classic in style and felt like it took you back in time with its old world style. Breakfasts were lovely, with everything you could wish for, even freshly cooked eggs and omelettes. Sorrrento itself is quite expensive but worth it. We took a ferry to Capri which is worth a visit, but much more expensive than Sorrento!! We travelled with Easy Jet and took the bus to Sorrento from the airport, which cost 10 euros per person. Look out for taxi drivers who offer to take you, but will charge you much more. I would thoroughly recommend Sorrento and the Grand Hotel Royal.
WE TRAVELLED IN OCTOBER WHICH WAS QUITE BUSY SO I WOULD IMAGINE IT IS VERY BUSY IN PEAK SEASON.

Great location and a great Hotel
The Hotel Royal is situated on the cliffs overlooking the Gulf of Naples. It has a great view of the marina and every morning there were one or two cruise ships anchored outside. It’s a short walk to the main square and the bus and train station are very close. The breakfast buffet should appeal to everyones appetite and includes eggs to order.
Take the bus from the Naples airport for 10 Euros. The public transportation is great and covers the entire Amalfi Coast.

Great View from Room
You can’t go wrong with the Grand Hotel Royal. After reading many editorials about "not getting your hopes up with the size/condition of the rooms" when staying in Italy, they were definitely NOT talking about this one. We had a great time there and would definitely book there again. The front desk was extremely friendly and helpful.
End of September was a perfect time to go. Great weather and not super crowded.
