The Hotel Arcantis Bristol is located near the Canal du Midi , in the heart of Carcassonne . Entirely renovated, this 19th century building used to be a horse lodge, now converted into a modern functional hotel. The bedrooms are spacious and luminous, and will welcome you an intimate atmosphere. The reception is open 24H/24, and the staff is always at your disposal and will answer to all of your questions. The hotel includes two equipped meeting rooms for your seminars and conferences, with a capacity of 30 and 100 people, as well as a bar and a restaurant, where guests can relax while having a drink. The bar is open only during lunch-time, while the restaurant is open in the evening and closes at noon.

Good value hotel
The hotel offered a relaxed and informal approach. The staff was both courteous & friendly. The actual position of the hotel was close to the railway station therefore you could hear the occasional early morning train if you were facing the canal. You were also about 2Km from the castle, which in some ways was a good thing. Overall this hotel is a good base for either exploring Carcassonne or the wider region. Its worth noting that there was no AC in the room, therefore I would imagine it could be uncomfortable during the height of summer.

Lots of places to dine in the castle grounds, however there are a number of better valued restaurants close to the vicinity of the hotel

Arcantis Hotel Bristol
No air conditioning - it was very hot, so we had the windows open all night. But the noise from the railway station opposite, and the rushing water going through the lock on the canal below the window, kept us awake all night. The room was very shabby - chest of drawers was broken, and the WC was in a very small cupboard in the bedroom with no ventilation. Bathroom OK. Breakfast OK. Location was otherwise convenient - for restaurants, sightseeing, car access.
