Great Rooms- Great Location-Helpful staff
Salvo Hotel Shanghai was a Oasis- after a couple other Hotels on the journey- Bejing and Xian -hotels were disappointment- and not 4-5 star-- Salvo Hotel made up for the others with a wonderful suite- great loacation and ease of getting around in Shanghai-- you could walk to the Main Plaza-Subway-Main pedestrain Shopping street.. If your indecisive where to stay-- this is the place

EXCELLENT HOTEL
The room we stayed in was the business suite king. Very large with separate sitting area with desk and computer. Very helpful and didnt have any problems with communication. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Shanghai. Area was safe to walk in around the hotel. A lot of construction going on at the Bund due to the 2010 Expo.
October was the perfect time in Shanghai; temperatures in 70s and sunny. Very comfortable.

Hotel Staff No Help!!!
The hotel staff at the hotel could not speak English and they told us that the Oriental Pearl Tower Restaurant was totally booked for lunch and dinner and the Ferry Ride to see the bund was fully booked and the Dragon Boat was down for maintenance. To make a long story short, we went and booked all those things ourselves with NO problem and they were both FAR from being fully booked. (in fact, they were both pretty empty) We went during Chinas 60-year Celebration and were told that no Taxis or Subway would be able to take us home so we thought we had to walk 1+ Hours to get home. Turns out Taxi DID run to the hotel AND the Subway DID run, only to the stop before or after us (which means it was only a 15 minute walk, not 1+ hours) Also, under the bed in the hotel room it was REALLY dirty and I also returned to the room one day to find all this yellow crap in the sink. To this day, I still dont know what it is. Other than that though, the value of this hotel considering its view and location is pretty good. I just think there might be something better out there for me.
Traveller's tip on recreational activities
Green Massage is located a short Taxi Ride away and it was GREAT. $35 gets you 2-Hours of massage at a top notch spa. We went there every night of our trip!
