Lovely site and well planned. Reception extremely helpful. Can’t fault it for this type of holiday.

peace and tranquility
Great improvement in signage since our last visit in February and this time even though we took linen with us due to its asence last time , this time it was provided , and to a good standard. facilities were good, though we would prefer a cooker instead of a dishwasher or wood burner. Could do with a few more easy chairs also as the lounge area is a little retricted with just a sofa bed ,even though the unit could sleep 7 people. out of season meant it was very quiet which was lovely . and the park is very nice. Units by the lake are far superior in aspect and we much prefer them ,having stayed in both. However the walk in shower and upstairs bathroom was great in the inner logements. Overall , very good with no pressure or rules and regs . We hope to return , however probably will be deterred from staying for longer periods as our 2 very well behaved dogs would have to be kept on their leads at all times , which would be a shame. well placed for enjoying the lovely counrtyside and Nonton is a very friendly and lovely village with lots of traditional french faciliities.Very welcoming to those who are at least prepared to try to speak french and interact with the local community.
make the most of a leisurely lunch at the Sports bar . A plat du jour and pitcher of wine goes down a treat at a good price . Hospitality is great .

Domaine du Lac, Nontron, France
The staff were warm & welcoming and the majority spoke very good english - far better than my french! They gave you an A4 pack full of lots of useful information relating to the local area and details about the property. The accommodation itself was a semi-detached three bedroom lodge with a lakeside view and balcony (prefect for eating outside), this was one of only 93 on the entire site - some of which were terraced. Our lodge was very clean and modestly furnished but nonetheless reasonably well equipped, in fact the only real omission was an oven - there was a hob. The site itself is well suited for a quiet family holiday. The swimming pool was heated (end of August) and the lake and the beaches were well kept & the grounds are also well tendered. kids love swimming in the lake and it is a safe environment although there are no lifeguards either for the lake or the pool. There aren’t many other facilities but they do have a couple of table tennis tables,a volleyball court on sand and a wooden outdoor gym. There is also a delivery service for bread & croissants - delivered fresh every morning. Overall, we really liked the site it matched our simple taste and the local area was very pleasant and so were the local people.
